2022 Interior Design Trends

With more time having been spent nestled at home the last few years, rearranging and redecorating has become an adopted pastime of many. As you begin to brainstorm your home revamp, we hope to provide a little inspiration and direction by sharing Five Interior Design trends for 2022.

Let us start with the Pantone Color of the Year:

PANTONE 17-3938 - Very Peri.

For the first time in its organization’s history, Pantone created this year’s color, which speaks volumes about what it signifies and represents. Accordingly, Veri Peri is said to encourage personal inventiveness and creativity. It calls on individuals to embrace the unknown and develop an appetite for adventure, marked by unlimited potential and possibilities. Pantone created their coveted Color of the Year with the hope that we flourish with boldness and curiosity  as we cultivate a new vision. Quite fitting, don’t you agree?

1.      Bold Prints

Especially when it comes to window treatments - think drapery, shades, and sheers. Even more special is the shift of focus onto 3D prints, a unique aspect that will engage a deeper aura and captivate more of our senses. While these bold prints provide a visual intrigue, many interior designers are also drawing on their compatibility with vintage and antique elements to bring about a nostalgic semblance.

2.      Bringing the Outdoors, In

Intentionally designed areas of the home that will create synergy and encourage time spent in the open air. We envision a focus and growth in stylish and sleek outdoor furniture to create a seamless transition between the two spaces. The relationship encourages a relaxing ambience, restorative and calming. Incorporating expansive greenery and extracting the beauty of natural light will allow you to achieve this synergy.

We have been loving all the content from @plantkween about how to bring greenery and life into your home. They recently announced their new book “You Grow, Gurl!” up for presale. Check out their Instagram & be one of the first to get their book!

3.      Mindful Spaces

Because we have spent more time at home in the last two years than ever before, many of us have become acutely aware of the impact that our environment and surroundings have on us. Whether we feel inspired, or perhaps less connected to our home, the space carries into our emotional and mental wellbeing. Scattering sentimental and personality ties around is an intimate and effective way to incorporate individuality.

4.      Biophilic Design

The way the sunlight cascades along the bookshelf, or the vibrancy that a simple potted plant in the corner effuses, are examples of the way nature and humanity can intertwine. The connection serves as the elemental foundation of this design practice and can be engaged with intention. From placement of furniture and negative space to an abundance of plants, Biophilic Design is proven to bolster productivity and creativity.

 5.      Neutrals

Simplistic and eccentric styles both rely on the authority of neutrals to achieve balance and harmony. The pursuit of neturals can come in many forms, but for 2022, we anticipate a renewed concentration on materials - rich woods, rattans, exquisite stones. Texture and composition contribute a sense of depth to home design, something a bit more soulful in the imperfections rooted in rawness. We believe Intense and deep hues layered with neutrals is an artful way we can achieve this balance.
