Dedicated to the protection and enjoyment of the world’s ocean, waves and beaches, for all people, through a powerful activist network.
The Surfrider Foundation is a grassroots non-profit organization that advocates for the reduction of plastic pollution, ocean protection, beach access for all , coastal preservation, and clean water. They have numerous campaigns that range from plastic pollution to beach access going on across the country, with 53 of them being in California. Aside from fighting for the overall wellness of our oceans and beaches, they also feature programs that encourage others to give back in their communities. Some examples of these programs are beach clean ups, ocean friendly gardens, Blue Water Task Force, and Rise Above Plastics. There are a plethora of ways one can get involved with the foundation, whether it be through local chapters, student clubs, or volunteer stations.
