A Fabulous Guide to Road Tripping to Las Vegas

Every June we head to Vegas for Couture. While most are excited about the amazing jewelry show, for us it’s the entire journey – how we get there, what we wear, what we do and who we see.

We try and live our lives filled with #noordinarymoments, so why not make a regular experience-like a road trip- extraordinary? Rather than flying to vegas, drive! However, do so in style! Follow along with us as we list the many ways we made one road trip the trip of a lifetime!

Rent a Vintage Car

We made our way on Route 66 in a 1964 red hot Buick Electra convertible. These babies are beautiful but don’t have much space, so make sure you make enough space for luggage!

Put together an itinerary and playlist

A road trip is about having fun and taking in the entire experience. Put together an itinerary but don’t feel bound to it! Pair that with your favorite music and you’re ready to go!

Stop #1: Elmer’s Bottle Tree Ranch

While driving to Vegas, there are a number of different stops you should spend some time at! Elmer’s Bottle Tree Ranch was our first stop on our journey to Vegas and describing it doesn’t quite do it justice. To get there, you off road in the middle of nowhere to find thousands of bottles forming trees. It’s equal parts amazing as it is unexpected.

Lunch at In-N-Out

Take-out is usually our go-to when taking road trips, and we always try and snag a quick bite at In-N-Out either before or partway through our drive! We got there at the perfect time and indulged on burgers, fries and milkshakes. We always make sure to ask for the infamous hats so we can get a fun photo in!

Stop #2: Peggy Sue’s 50’s Diner

Another great spot if you want to travel back in time for an hour or two! This restaurant has great food and even better vibes, and even though we stopped for the photo opportunity, we left with milkshakes in hand.

Stop #3: The World’s Taller Thermometer

It was 106 degrees as we inched closer to Vegas, and the temperature was rising. This stop isn’t necessary, it’s just very interesting to see! Before we left, we headed next door and grabbed Alien Beef Jerky(yes, it’s a real thing!) and amazing Greek food from a world famous Greek restaurant!

Stop #4: Seven Magic Mountains

Try not to confuse these rocks with the Seven Wonders of the World! While they really are a pile of colored rocks, they are still a beautiful sight to see and are the perfect backdrop for an impromptu photoshoot!

We hope this little Las Vegas road trip itinerary inspires you and your friends to pack up the car and get out of town for awhile! Little trips like these make life so much more interesting and enjoyable, and we always try and carve out one weekend a month where we drive to a new destination!

Happy travels everyone!
