Travel Diary: Aspen, CO
Aspen, Colorado has quickly become one of our absolute favorite locations to travel to. From the changing seasonal activities to some of the most delicious dining experiences you will experience, we are forever entranced by this beautiful mountain town. In this three day guide, you will find some of our favorite activities, restaurants, and recommendations.
Day One
For your stay, there are a plethora of hotels, inns, and AirBnb that you can choose from. Whether you want to stay in a Ski Resort, Hotel Jerome, or an AirBnb in town - the options are endless and you can cater your needs to your wants.
Eat: For your first night, Clark’s Oyster Bar is the perfect first celebratory “we made it” meal! Our top recommendations for this famous oyster bar are, of course, oysters. In addition, a favorite is the Grilled Spanish Octopus. Their staff is not only friendly and professional, but they have a wide variety of knowledge on wine pairings and will ensure you have an amazing meal.
Explore: For your first day and night, get aquatinted with the town by exploring Downtown Aspen. The combination of luxury retailers, unique mom and pops, restaurants, and more are sure to have you swooning.
Day Two:
Hike: If you and your family/friends are looking to get some fresh air, we highly recommend starting early in Aspen on a hike. There are countless trials, but some of our favorites include: Smuggler Mountain Trailhead, The Ute Trail, & Maroon Bells | AllTrails
Eat: This French Bistro is one of Aspen’s gems. If we could eat there everyday, we would, so make sure to make a lunch or dinner reservation on your second day. The French Alpine Bistro - Crêperie du Village has the dreamiest decor alongside some of the best cuisine you will have in Aspen (or anywhere).
Activities: Seasonal - favorites include: horseback riding, fly fishing, paddle boarding, skiing/snowboarding, snowshoeing, hiking, and more.
Day Three
Coffee & Eats: When in Aspen, we recommend starting your day early with a coffee at Local Coffee and head to a hike or bike around the town. After your hike or walk, we love starting the day with a green juice and some fresh options at Spring Cafe.
Explore: While you are on a roll of exploration, we absolutely love drive through Woody Creek and admiring the pure beauty that it that area.
Eat: Matsuhisa Japanese & Sushi Restaurant is a beloved choice amongst Aspen locals and anyone who comes to visit this gorgeous mountain town. Chef Nobu first opened Matsuhisa in 1998 as the first Matsuhisa location outside of the original Beverly Hills restaurant. Located inside of a Victorian home on the Main Street in Aspen, where the basement provides an intimate dining experience.
See you in Aspen.
