Travel Diary: Ojai, CA
Ojai is a small city tucked away in Ventura County and boasts a slew of gorgeous orange orchards and expansive wineries. Our team decided to take a weekend trip and, of course, put together a three day guide.
Day One
Off to Ojai! For us, the drive (from Santa Monica/Malibu) is a little over an hour long and beyond gorgeous. We twisted and turned our way through the mountains to our first stop on the journey, lunch at The Nest.
Eat: The Nest
The Nest - an eatery that has delicious farm to table food and delectable drinks! Our team was impressed by the selection and overall βvibeβ of this location.
Explore: Downtown Ojai
Stay: Ojai Valley Inn
After lunch, head to the beautiful Ojai Valley Inn. This hotel is widely known for being an incredible wedding venue and luxurious spa retreatβ¦and a retreat it was. The grounds are incredible and it is nearly impossible not to feel relaxed.
Wine Tasting: Topa Mountain Winery
Get ready for an exciting night of wine tasting, a favorite hobby of ours. Ojai is known for their delicious wines, especially at Topa Mountain Winery! Before heading to the winery, grab some snacks and other goodies from Libbeyβs Market, which is a staple at the hotel.
It was truly an exciting first day and after a Sunday filled with fun and sun, it was time to hit the hay and get ready for our second day of adventure!
Day Two
Explore or do an activity!
Ojai offers a variety of activities outside of wine tasting (although if that is all you are interested in, go ahead!). Our team took a jeep tour, which was filled with excitement. However, you can go horseback riding, do a bee keeping experience, hike, and many other options.
Work and Play by the Pool
Head back to the hotel and relax by the pool. We had some work to do, and decided the best place to be productive and stress-free would be by the lush pool! Who says you canβt mix business with pleasure?
Eat: Nocciola
Get ready for a classy night out at Nocciola! This restaurant tops the list of places you must go to when in Ojai! Everything was superb, from the wine to the dinner to the whole ambiance of the place.
Day Three
The last day of a trip can be sad, but we always recommend taking in a location with a morning walk. Ojai has a main walking/bike path that was absolutely stunning.
Donβt try rushing your last day, so take things a little slower than usual. Walk around Ojai Avenue again and peak into your favorite boutiques, then enjoy an early dinner at Azu.
Eat: Azu
Azu is a local Ojai brewery serving craft cocktails, beers, and wines. Their drink selection is so wide that you are bound to find something delicious to sip on while enjoying your dinner. Relax, bask in the sunset, and enjoy that last minute margarita!
See you soon, Ojai.
